Name[edit]

Is the name of this spell intended to be emberbolt or ember bolt? - Guy (talk) 21:27, 14 July 2017 (MDT)

I think that if it was maybe just "ember" that not only does it sound cooler, but no offense it's kinda not a bolt, more of a blast. So another good name might be "ember blast" Just putting it out there. Otherwise love the idea of the spell itself. --Biosnatcher147

A spell can have any name you wish. If you're DMing, you can rename the spell to Ember or Emberblast in your notes. I didn't do it because of possible affiliation with the series known as Pokémon. --Supersmily5 (talk) 17:27, 16 January 2018 (MST)

Rarity[edit]

What about this spell makes knowing about it so uncommon? SirSprinkles (talk) 01:02, 27 July 2017 (MDT)

Well for one it's a homebrew spell. The idea is that it's a variation on Fire Bolt, and therefore not on everyone's spell list. HOW it's uncommon is up to the DM, but it is so for balance reasons. Mages are usually AOE ranged fighters, this spell disagrees with that format. Additionally, eventually I plan on making a spell overhaul ruleset that contains this and other spells as well as rules for spell learning outside of class capabilities, a project I'll get back to after finishing the dragon overhaul ruleset I'm making.
