Talk:Dark Shadow (5e Class)

The lack of any weapon proficiencies brings up some problematic implications; all classes have at least one weapon proficiency. Even wizards and sorcerers, who avoid combat as much as possible, are proficient with daggers, darts, slings and quarterstaffs. Long story short, at least add a single weapon proficiency. I will be sure to add some weapon proficiencies. I am still fairly new to this so thank you for pointing this out.

As a side note, my error likely came from the idea that weapons for this class seemed simply a bit pointless for this class. I will admit the martial arts for this are less than sub par, but the main focus of this class was not on the weapons but on one's innate abilities. Similar to the monk, however while the monk has weapon proficiencies in simple weapons and shortswords, those weapons hinder the play style of the average monk. Likely a monk is going to use their fists and Ki abilities more often than a simple weapon like a club. While I was creating this class I tried to think of it in the same manner. The light subclass seems very underpowered --HikariSakishima (talk) 14:11, 16 June 2022 (MDT)
