This just feels like instant summons with an extra effect tacked on to it and no expensive material component. Also not a 6th-level spell. SirSprinkles (talk) 15:38, 1 April 2018 (MDT)

What if we instead made it where it just can't be removed from your person? Thoughts? Cotsu Malcior (talk) 15:23, 20 August 2018 (MDT)
It feels different to me because this can't cross planar boundaries, and can't even be anywhere on the same plane (100 mile range). I would suggest a bit more of a cost by requiring the caster to attune to the object as part of the casting, or be attuned to the item already with the connection ending as soon as the caster is no longer attuned to the item instead of lasting one week (summon within 24 hours unless the item stays within 100 feet, in which case it lasts indefinitely). I wouldn't worry about the range asside form requiring it be on the same plane because it's then a race of how far you can get from the item within 24 hours. Sure, you can take three magic items with you after teleporting across the world, but why not just carry them? This feels (more) like a way to re-arm yourself or hold on to the quest item than a way to retrieve something from across the country. My second option would be to have this actually create an item, as the "Bound fill-in-the-blank" from the Elder Scrolls series which summons the weapon or armor already wielded or worn by the caster upon casting, but this negates the need to actually bind an item, it's more of a creation-conjuration than a summon.
