Pricing[edit]

I think you should increase the cost, from 4000 to, say - 8000gp or even more in my opinion. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.93.132.106 (talkcontribs) 08:06, May 5, 2009. Please sign your posts.

The price is determined by the item creation guidelines. This is a continuous (*2000) item of a level 1 spell (Spell Level (1) * Caster Level (1) = 1) and it has a duration of minutes per level (*2), which is a total of 4,000gp. --TK-Squared 05:39, 5 May 2009 (MDT)
But don't wondrous items have a minimum caster level of 3? Saidoro 16:07, 8 May 2009 (MDT)
While 3rd level is the minimum level you can take Craft Wondrous Item, most items are made at the lowest possible level (and is standard for all magical items in the DMG). Also, a direct quote from item creation guidelines: "A creator can create an item at a lower caster level than her own, but never lower than the minimum level needed to cast the needed spell." Hope that clears up the confusion. --Ganteka 17:15, 8 May 2009 (MDT)
I agree with the first poster, this is way too good for its price. The Boots of Striding and Springing cost 5,500 GP for a 10 ft increase and an increase to jump (a skill I have only used once across five campaigns). I would probably increase the cost to something like 8000 and decrease the bonus to be +20. In its current form, this could be afforded by a relatively low levelled character and allow them to move much faster than intended, especially breaking the cleric class with their touch range healing spells. --Teramin (talk) 08:39, 12 November 2021 (MST)
