Talk:Blinker (3.5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
I seriously don't know how the code works for the class stuff, so I'll post everything it should do, and I'll need help as to how it should look like...
Weapon and armor proficiency : A Blinker is proficient in light weapons and in light armor.
Blink (Offence): Effectively, blinking from one spot to the other. As a move action, the level 1 blinker may teleport 20Ft Instantly. The 20ft is upgraded by 5ft every two levels. Blink may only be used once per round. Blink does not provoke any attack of opportunity.Take note that this is not the Spell "Blink", as stated in the Player's handbook, nor is it "Teleport".
Blink Image: At the 8th level, once each two hours, a Blinker may blink and re-appear faster than light, effectively making the eye of the enemy think he did not move (As the residual image of the Blinker does not disappear right away). The image will disappear after one round or after being hit once. Every five levels, a Blinker may add one more image. You may use this ability three times a day and every 4rth level, he may use it once more every three hours.
Chain Blink Sp: At 8th Level, a Blinker may use this ability to blink towards an enemy, hit him, blink again, and hit another one, up to 4 times to it's Base Attack bonuses. He can only do this skill once an hour, 3 times a day.
Blink Charge: On the 10th level, the Blinker uses his Blink speed to increase it's own speed before impact. After starting it's charge and making the required amount of move to charge, the Blinker may Blink to it's normal Blink distance, and on impact, may add 1d8 damage to it's charge, as his Blink accelerated his charge and upgraded it's impact power. Blink charge may be used once per hour.
Blink (Defence): on the 12th level, the Blinker may evade a blow with the help of a short blink, on the successfull Reflex save DC 22. The use of Blink(Defence) is a swift action, and may be used three times a day.
Improved Blink Charge: On the 15th level, the Blinker learned how to increase it's appearing speed even more than in the first version of Blink Charge. If the same conditions are met for the Blink Charge, the Blinker charges yet again, adding even more force of impact on his strike. Improved Blink Charge also allows to do another Blink Charge following the hit. The choice given is towards the Blinker to charge the same person again, or change target. Each hit adds an extra 3d8 damage. Improved Blink Charge may be used once per hour.
Blink Feint/Counter: On the 17th level, the Blinker may attack an ennemy head on, and just when the target goes to defend himself and block the attack, the Blinker blinks behind him and attacks, removing the target's DEX AC modifier. This is the Feint version. The Counter version is used as a counter-attack, doing the same as the Feint version on a successfull DC 30 reflex save. The Blinker may use Blink Feint any time during his round. Blink Counter can be used once an hour. Blink Feint can be used on the Blinker's wish.
Blink Clone: The master art of the use of Blink. Blinkers that can use this skill have mastered skill, reflexes and speed to blink in less than a tenth of a second, and re-blinking again, at the same speed, effectively making two or three "clones" of the Blinker which acts on the Blinker's will, as they are effectively...him. The difficulty to use three clones is DC 35 Reflex save. Blink Clones at level 20 will give their damage to the user and will Last (1+Int Modifier) rounds. Once the Blink Clones dissipate, the Blinker is reverted to normal speed and may not re-activate this skill for 24 hours/After sleeping for a full night as his muscles are effectively stiff, and will hurt the Blinker.
Coding[edit]
I can post this stuff into your class for you, I have a good enough idea of the coding to do that. -- Danzig 20:20, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- By the way, if you want to know how to use code, a good way to learn it is to go to a page that has features all coded up properly, open the edit page, and examine the code as applied to their class features. Just don't actually mess with their work, and you'll learn. Also, roving about and applying code to articles which need it is a good way to keep it fresh in your mind. That's how I learned. I'd do all the coding for most of you contributors, but I'm only one man. -- Danzig 20:41, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
New Writer[edit]
I am going to be writing up some stuff for this page now since it seems abandoned and I am playing one in my current campaign. I am not going to mess with the skills much but I do plan to add Epic Levels and some Fluff for it.
I could use help making the Starting Package and NPC though. Or a good example of one.
as a recommendation might i say that for epic abilities instead of flat values give the abilities a scaling mechanic so that way for really high levels your abilities still progress. i understand that few use epic levels myself included its just a pet peeve when i see an ability that doesn't progress to fit the class.
