Talk:Bantam Fomorian (5e Race)
To whoever keeps editing my page, no offense, but you’ve got the ability scores all wrong. Bantam Fomorians should have average dexterity at best, and their charisma goes DOWN, not up. Please leave the ability scores alone.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by SweenYo (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
Seriously. This creature is literally known for having one of the worst charisma scores in the monster manual, and he shouldn’t have high dexterity because of his size. Please, just keep the ability scores the way they are. Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SweenYo (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- As said in the summary, negative ability scores should be avoided as they pigeon hole the race unnecessarily. Consider why can't a fomorian have a high charisma score or why can't they play a Sorcerer or Paladin? Given they were once beautiful fey creatures it is reasonable to believe they would have innate magical ability. Reverting edits and insisting on a baseless point without reason isn't how collaboration works on a wikipedia. I've adjusted the ASI's. —ConcealedLight (talk) 09:37, 18 February 2019 (MST)
- You make a fair point, and I apologize for my arrogance. While I still don’t see a charisma score increase as logical for this race, I believe that removing it entirely is a fair compromise. The new ability score increases should be considered an improvement.
Also, what do you mean by “an additional die of damage”? That sounds a bit vague to me, whereas a set dice or amount of damage is more self explanatory. User:SweenYo
- Thank you, and yes the recent asi adjustment is fine. In regards to the die of damage, the idea is that it functions similar to a critical hit, so if you hit them with a greataxe you'd roll an additional d12 for the weapon damage as opposed to applying an additional dice into the mix, which is more streamlined and will generally deal more damage. —ConcealedLight (talk) 08:23, 19 February 2019 (MST)
SweenYo, it would be better to sign the end of your comments with --~~~~, the result being this. --Cosmos (talk) 18:05, 18 February 2019 (MST) The {{User:UserName|Signature}} would be for when you pre-set it to something, I think. I'm not quite sure, but a lot of the admins use it.
- Most use it to get the little star next to the name so people know we're admins but other users have used it in the past to add a complex custom signature. —ConcealedLight (talk) 08:23, 19 February 2019 (MST)
