Talk:Anthro Dragon (5e Race Variant)
From D&D Wiki
Yo, Chaoshound,
This is EpicBoss99. I saw that you were a little upset about the changes that were made to this race, specifically the balance changes made recently. Your argument makes total sense and is absolutely valid, but you gotta remember that D&D Wiki is a public place for people to collaborate, and admins kinda have the final say on things. The reason why the admin made those changes was because they weren't balanced to fit the balance of the first party races in the Player Handbook. Maybe you and I could come up with a compromise? We could figure out some way to keep the natural weapons, perhaps, without jeopardizing the balance of the class. I'd love to talk to you about this, so feel free to reply to me here on this talk page and we can work to make everyone happy. Please remember that the admin's job is to make sure that all content found on the wiki is of a high standard of quality and balance, so please don't take anything they've done personally. Thanks, and I can't wait to talk to you! :)
Sincerely,

- This is a buffed dragonborn regardless. How do the natural weapons create an unbalanced race? I've always wondered why they (the weapons) are so valued. Save some gold? There a bit of a moot point. Flavor? This user was warned for doing what an admin did - edit a page based on preference. Except one user has the authority to warn and the other doesn't. Chaos makes the case in summaries this race was liked, aka in use by others. No templates on the page. Concealed decided to change it on preference. User tries to keep the page intact the way it is being used and gets in trouble. No explanation why the edits are being made or why the page isn't balanced. Just a "I'm an admin and I want it this way." BigShotFancyMan (talk) 23:20, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
I think we should all talk about what we want out of this page. I think once we put our preferences out on the table this whole thing will we solved once we get to a compromise. :) --EpicBoss99 (talk) 23:26, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
- I prefer it as a Dragonborn, Variant page. Arguably one of the weakest races in 5e a buff isn't a bad thing for the race. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 23:28, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
Yeah, I agree with that too. The problem is the creator of this page made items specific to the name of this race, so we'd have to go in and edit those too, and there might be confusion between if those items reference the variant or the official one. But yeah, other than that, cool. I do want to hear what Chaoshound has to say before we take action, though. --EpicBoss99 (talk) 23:30, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
- I think there is a misunderstanding. Dragonborn, Variant (5e Race Variant) is something I am referring to. There is no need for lore or what not because this is simply a mechanical change. They are dragonborn offspring. They get extra traits. Of course we'll wait to hear from Chaos. I wasn't telling anyone to change anything..... BigShotFancyMan (talk) 23:38, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
Yep my bad I was misunderstanding haha —EpicBoss99 (talk) 23:54, 28 August 2018 (MDT)
I am just confused as to how it is truly overpowered and I'd rather it be kept to how the original creator had it unless someone can tell me how it is overpowered but I created a variant that has it how the original creator had it and so far all light has done is change the page title because I accidentally made it too aggressive due to my mind set last night. -Chaoshound (talk) 09:08, 29 August 2018 (MDT)
