Musicus Meter
Score: 7
This race has a score of 7 according to the Musicus Meter race guidelines. With this metric, first-party races' scores range from 4.5 to 8. This is a guideline, not a rule, and it's important to use your own judgment alongside this scoring.
This scoring may be the groundwork for a focused {{needsbalance}} usage. A contributor to this page may request a detailed breakdown of this page's balance. Without this information, {{needsbalance}} may then be removed. This meter cannot be the sole basis for a needsbalance template, but may be included as an accessory to a wider discussion of a race's balance.
This template should only be placed on a race's talk page. If this template is not placed on the talk page, please move it.

Ownership and possession[edit]

Why can’t another user collaborate and add a sub race to this race? Or add extra context to the type of bird depicted? As said on the user talk page, no one owns these pages and this edit reverted is almost exactly what I argued about for the last two weeks. Please try to work together with users. Why does a user want to add a subrace? Does it hurt anything at all for the bird to be a black vulture? Do we reeeaaaly need another variant so that a user can have their bird be a black bird instead of encompassing all birds of that specie. Collaborate. I'm absolutely fine with collaborating. In fact, the changes that the user made inspired me to add the subrace they wanted to this page. The fact that flavor text was just put on here for no reason but for user preference is the exact opposite of collaboration. Collaboration is going on the talk page and talking about it, not users just throwing whatever they want onto a page. In fact, almost everything that I've done to this page in the past has been checked balance-wise with the help of ConcealedLight, so please don't say that I'm not working with other users. It was one word, and it didn't make sense on the page to be that specific for a subrace. That is my justification for making these changes. It doesn't make any sense to be forced to allow every single change made by whoever decides to add something. EpicBoss99 (talk) 16:02, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
An edit war ends in a locked page. That's unpleasant.
Did EpicBoss or Cotsu—did anyone—ever actually address Mykalwane about this directly, prior to locking the page? I can see the issue wasn't brought up on this talk page, their user talk page, or even their IP's talk page. Since when is an edit war and an admin-lock more reasonable than (apparently) even attempting to first clearly say, "Hey please don't do that." - Guy 16:47, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
I put a note as to why I reverted the change in my first edit, but the user just continued to edit, then made an account to continue adding that edit. I'll take the blame for not addressing the user directly. --EpicBoss99 (talk) 16:53, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
While summaries are of course good to have, it's worth remembering that an anonymous user doesn't have a watchlist to see summaries, and an inexperienced user may be unaware of things like recentchanges or page history. I'm glad there is at least some discussion going now; better late than never. - Guy 17:05, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
Yeah, sorry about that guys. I definitely overreacted on this one. EpicBoss99 (talk) 17:19, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
Sorry that for my lack of knowing. Just I kept adding in the black because it went from a turkey vulture that worked for a game into a black vulture. [link]https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/5e_Race_Design_Guide[/link]

The varrant isn't really anything I had created. it is a vulture but is a type of vulture. the scavanger is what a black vulture is. user:mykalwane

Hey, Mykalwane! Thanks for the edit. However, I don't really understand what you're trying to get out of this edit. Why does the subrace need to specifically be just one species of vulture? If it's the name of the subrace that's bothering you, I can change that too. Thanks again, and sorry for the misunderstanding. EpicBoss99 (talk) 18:09, 26 September 2018 (MDT)
