Talk:5e Rules

There is no way to make a supplemental combat action appear in only that list, it will always appear in another rule list or the uncategorized list as well. I don't know how to correct that. Kydo (talk) 06:11, 8 May 2015 (MDT)

There should maybe be a separate category for expansions on game play that are not rules, such as new weapon features and the like. --Kydo (talk) 11:24, 23 June 2015 (MDT)

If we are going to move skills into here, then incomplete skills should also appear here, either as incomplete or as uncategorized. --Kydo (talk) 12:13, 11 August 2016 (MDT)

Skills[edit]

All of a sudden, a bunch of the skills vanished. What happened? --Kydo (talk) 07:00, 1 September 2016 (MDT)

Some were up for a deletion proposal that then expired. These were pages that listed all the ability check examples in the PHB (i.e. all the examples of activities that are by definition not a covered by a skill). Marasmusine (talk) 13:00, 1 September 2016 (MDT)

Does anyone remember this rule?[edit]

I kinda sorta remember this one page that used to be on this wiki before it was deleted (I think it was a variant rule?). I can't remember what it was called, but it was a very detailed, in-depth system for making monster player characters in 5e, with rules for adapting traits such as natural armor, etc. for player characters. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any help jogging my memory would be greatly appreciated! Quincy (talk) 22:03, 20 June 2018 (MDT)

Miscellaneous[edit]

I was considering making a Miscellaneous Rules page for rules that aren’t complex or long-winded enough warrant their own page in a similar manner to [Firearms (5e Variant Rule)]. I haven’t done it yet because I want to know if people would actually use the page or if it’s even a good idea to begin with. -Ref3rence (talk) 06:34, 16 December 2019 (MST)

I think it would be unhelpful to merge homebrew pages of that nature. Having [Firearms] as its own page makes it easier for a DM to throw out a url and tell his players, "this is the rule we're using." It becomes significantly harder if that rule is just one on a list, and the DM needs to specify which item in that list is being used. - Guy 07:23, 16 December 2019 (MST)

Conditions[edit]

I believe conditions should have their own separate section, just like 5e Skills currently have. To me at least it certainly makes more sense than shoving most of them together on one page like Additional Status Conditions (5e Variant Rule). It wouldn't be hard to just edit 5e Rules myself to do this, but the page is protected from my edits. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am fine with this. As soon as multiple rules have the appropriate Conditions category, then I will unlock this page. --Green Dragon (talk) 13:30, 21 March 2022 (MDT)
