Sword of the Stranger (5e Equipment)

Weapon (Longsword), artifact (Requires Attunement by a Rider (5e Race) or a 20th level fighter)

The Sword Of The Stranger provides the following features:

One, while this sword is not in it's scabbard, any living creature within 10 feet of you (excluding only you) takes necrotic damage equal to your highest ability score at the start of each of thier turns. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.

Two, while you wield this sword, if an enemy rolls a natrual 1 on a melee attack roll against you, you can take a reaction to cause them to take 8D8 Lightning damage. That damage ignores resistance and immunity.

Three, fey, elves and plants are hostile towards you.

Four, you can cast Chain Lightning once a day while this sword is unsheathed.

Five, your speed increases by 20 feet while you wield this blade, and you can teleport 20 feet on your turn as a bonus action, or 60 feet as an action.
Random Properties. The Sword Of The Stranger has the following random properties:

  • 2 minor beneficial properties
  • 1 major beneficial property
  • 1 minor detrimental property
  • 2 major detrimental properties


Destroying the Sword Of The Stranger. The Sword Of The Stranger loses it's power if it's wielder is killed, but when another who is worthy touches it, the magic reactivates.
