Weapon (shortsword), very rare (requires attunement by a creature of chaotic alignment) A sword that randomly shifts from one magical property to the next. Who knows what effect you'll get! The sword appears to be a mundane hilt. As a bonus action a creature can press the hidden button on the bottom of the hilt revealing a blade of pure light. Attacks made with this weapon deal radiant damage instead of slashing damage. The sword's radiant blade emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20-feet. Random Size. With each passing day the size of the blade varies. Roll a d3 to determine what size the blade is. No other feature is changed by the roll except the damage done by this sword. 1. Shortsword. This sword deals 1d6 radiant damage. 2. Longsword. This sword deals 1d8 radiant damage. 3. Greatsword. This sword deals 2d6 radiant damage. Random Properties. With each passing week the sword changes form and its properties are rerolled. When you activate this sword for the first time on a new week roll a d100 to determine this weapon’s new properties. Sword of Wonder Properties 01-10. The sword gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. 11-20. You can use a bonus action to toggle the button changing the damage type of this sword to acid, fire, lightning, poison, cold, or thunder damage or back to radiant damage. 21-30. This sword functions as a sword of wounding and its damage type is now necrotic. Additionally the sword’s blade radiates darkness instead of light. All bright light within the radius turns to dim light instead. 31-40. This sword functions as a dagger of venom and its damage type is now poison. 41-50. This sword functions as a blazing flame tongue and its damage type is now fire. The flames can’t be quenched by a command word. 51-60 Each attack made with this sword gains the effects of the thunderous smite spell and its damage type is now thunder. 61-66. The sword gains a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls. 67-73. This sword functions as a frost brand and its damage type is now cold. Additionally instead of giving off light the sword’s blade radiates an illusory glow which radiates dim light in a 10-foot radius that only you can see. 74-79. This sword functions as a dancing sword and its damage type is now force. 80-86. This sword functions as a sword of life stealing and its damage type is now necrotic. Additionally the sword’s blade radiates darkness instead of light. All bright light within a 5-foot radius of the sword turns to dim light while dim light that enters the area turns to darkness. 87-92. This sword functions as a nine lives stealer and its damage type is now necrotic. Additionally the sword’s blade radiates darkness instead of light. All bright light within a 10-foot radius of the sword turns to dim light while dim light that enters the area turns to darkness. The sword has 3 charges. After expending the last charge the sword permanently loses all of the properties in this form except the bonus to attack and damage rolls and the darkness that radiates from it. 93-95. The sword gains a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls. 96-99. This sword functions as a luck blade and its damage type is now psychic. Additionally the sword’s blade radiates magical light in a 20-foot radius. This light acts similar to truesight piercing through magical darkness, revealing magical illusions, invisible creatures, and so on. Once this sword is used to cast wish, it permanently loses all of the properties in this form except the bonus to attack and damage rolls and the magical light. 00. The sword gains a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls and in addition it gains the properties of one other form. Roll once more, rerolling any number that lands on a property which only gives a bonus to attack and damage rolls. |
