The horrific strzyga is an undead hag, generally created when a hag was slain in battle but brought back from the dead via necromancy and transformed into a horrific combination of hag and ghoul. Among the Quajjari sultanate these creatures are known as aunties of ghouls and rule over ghouls, ghasts and other undead as a tyrannical but perversely loving aunty. Though she has lost much of her cunning her undead state has turned her into a feral and monstrous creature that sucks blood with her harpoon tongue and can raise an army of lesser undead. Domovoi, bloated cadavers and mglak keep her company as well as other lesser hags like sea hags and green hags. The strzyga generally hate night hags and will only work with them if bested in combat. Strzyga can form a coven with two other hags like all hags can and she generally is the muscle of the coven with her undead minions. Covens. A strzyga that is part of a coven (see the "Hag Covens" sidebar in the Monster Manual) has a challenge rating of 6 (2,300 XP). Undead Nature. A strzyga doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep. |
