String of Wind missiles (5e Equipment)
Weapon (Longbow, Shortbow, Crossbows), Uncommon This white and greenish string originates from the elemental plane of air. This strand of air magic is used to enhance a bow's or crossbow's string. Wind Enhancement Ritual. During a long or short rest, you can perform a 1 hour ritual using this magic item and either a mundane or magic bow or crossbow to wrap the Wind String around the weapon's string, giving it a +1 to attack rolls and damage unless the weapon used during the ritual already is a +1 or higher weapon. An other 1 hour Ritual can separate the string from the bonded weapon, removing the magical properties of the Wind String from the weapon. A Detect Magic spell casted on the bonded weapon, reveals the string to be from the Divination and Evocation school of magic. The bonded weapon gains 7 charges, which can be expended when firing your weapon, the bonded weapon regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. Alternatively per DM's discretion, this item can expend a creatures spell slots instead of charges. When expending a spell slot on the item, count its level as if it was a number of charges expended to fuel its abilities. Gust Missiles. When rolling for a ranged weapon attack with the bonded weapon, you can expend 1 charge to cast at 1st-level the Magic Missile spell with one less dart, you can increases the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend. Each dart is green in color and are propelled by gusts of wind toward your ennemies. If your ranged weapon attack is successful, and 3 or more missiles are targeted on the same creature, you deal an additional damage die with the weapon. Healing Darts. When rolling for a ranged weapon attack with the bonded weapon, you can expend 1 charge to cast at 1st-level the Healing Word spell from the 2014 Player's Handbook, you can increases the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend. When doing so, you can target a number of creature equal to twice the number of expended charge, as white dart are propelled toward your allies. You can only count your spell casting modifier once per creature healed by the spell. You cannot use both Gust Missiles and Healing Darts on the same range attack. If the Wind String is bonded to a magical weapon that already uses charges to fuel other abilities, you cannot expend those charges on the item, and vise versa. |
