Cost: 50,000gp
Speed: 25mph (190 feet)
Strength: 15
Dexterity: 10
Constitution: 15

Steam powered vehicle that operates on steel rails at 3 feet wide. It is 30 feet long, 15 feet tall, and roughly 5 feet wide. It was designed by an Artificer of Icewind Dale, in the hopes of tying the 10 towns together, making traversing the countryside easier and safer, and to produce prosperity in the region by creating contracts to connect the eastern seaboard by rail, allowing for faster trade from the spine of the world to the rest of the continent. This revolutionary technology travels at a maximum speed of 25 mph (190 feet) and can haul up to a maximum of 600 tons provided good conditions. This vehicle can hold 5000 lbs of coal (250gp for Bituminous, 5000 for Anthracite), and holds 1400 gallons of water. Vehicle will run for 1 hour of use with 500 lbs of coal, thus giving a maximum run time of 10 hours before running out of coal. This vehicle can also be operated using order fire. Water levels must be checked every 10 minutes to prevent issues. Should the gauge not be inspected within 30 minutes or should the tender run out of water, the engine will explode and cause 10d6 damage to any within a 20 foot radius of the engine, unless a dexterity saving throw of 23 is made, at which point the character takes half damage. The engine takes 30 minutes to get to temperature. The engine will require water to be refilled at minimum every 7 hours of run time, not including warm up time. The vehicle requires 1 engineer, 1 stoker, and can hold 1 passenger. This vehicle takes 1 mile to stop from full speed.

The Denver Rio Grande and Western Class 48, which inspired the creation of this vehicle alongside the Hunslet Austerity.
