Spice (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item, legendary Spice is a small brown sack the size of a dollop tied with simple string. Inside the sack, is a teaspoon of a reddish brown powder. This powder smells of some kind of dried pepper along with an unknown electrical scent that accents the pepper and creates a euphoric smell that is delicious to all who smell it. The taste is quite similar, but the magical properties of Spice, regardless of ability to taste, overwhelms the user with euphoria. This affect lasts only a second or two before fading away and leaving the user with a feeling of growth. Affects: This powder is highly addictive and invasive. After the first time it is ingested it has a 25/100 chance to convert ANY item worth more than 10 gold that the player walks within 100 ft of into Spice. Every time it is consumed, up to 5 more times, this chance increases by 5. The second time Spice is consumed, the user immediately receives the flaw: Addicted, and must succeed on a dc 15 Wisdom save to keep from ingesting any. If ingested this item grants the following affects:
All affects from Spice are permanent until it is dispelled. If dispelled, the chance to encounter Spice returns to 0 and the user loses the Addicted flaw. Spice also must be eaten for any of its affects to take place. Dispelling Spice: Spice is a very powerful and potentially useful curse, being as powerful as it is, dispelling it is equally as difficulty. Spice can only be dispelled using dispel magic at 9th level. when dispelling Spice in this way it is treated as a 9th level spell +1 for each time it has been ingested. If Spice is attempted to be dispelled this way, it can only be attempted once per day. Any attempts to dispel it using either lower level dispel magic or any other kind of dispelling affect results in nothing happening but the spell is still consumed. |
