Spell Anchor of the Wandering Sanctum (5e Equipment)
Wondrous item, Very Rare (Requires attunement by a spellcaster) Crafted by wandering arcanists and naval enchanters, this finely wrought arcane device appears as a crystalline gyroscope suspended within an engraved mithral frame. The runes along its surface shimmer faintly with latent magic. Anchored Spellcasting: When casting a spell that affects an area, you may use the Spell Anchor of the Wandering Sanctum to bind the spell’s area of effect to the anchor itself, rather than a fixed point in space. The affected area will now move with the anchor, maintaining its relative dimensions and effects. The anchor must be affixed to a structure, vehicle, or platform no larger than 500 feet in any dimension. Only one spell can be anchored at a time. If a new spell is bound, the previous effect immediately ends. The spell retains its normal duration and can be dispelled as usual. If the anchor is destroyed, the effect ends immediately. Arcane Stability: Spells bound to the Spell Anchor of the Wandering Sanctum cannot be dispelled by casual displacement. However, if the structure it is attached to is moved via teleportation or extradimensional travel (such as Plane Shift or Teleport), the anchored spell immediately ends unless the caster succeeds on a DC 18 Arcana check to stabilize the effect. |
