This creature was created as part of the Player Equivalent CR variant rule using the Fighter class and soldier background, and as such does not follow traditional CR.

Medium humanoid (any race), any lawful alignment, 3rd-level fighter
Armor Class 17 (melee), 13 (ranged) Stab Vest, Level 2 Spikes
Hit Points 16 (3d8 + 3)
Speed 30 ft.
Saving Throws Str +3, Con +3 Skills Athletics +3, Intimidation +2, Perception +3, Stealth +5 Proficiency Bonus +2
Senses passive Perception 13
Languages —
Level 3 (450 XP)
The soldier has one of the following:
- Mariner. As long as the soldier is not wearing heavy armoror using a shield, they have a swimming and climbing speed equal to their normal speed and gain a +1 bonus to AC.
- Close Quarters Shooter. When making a ranged attack while they are within 5 feet of a hostile creature, they do not have disadvantage on the attack roll. Their ranged attacks ignore half cover and three-quarters cover against targets within 30 feet of them. They have a +1 bonus to attack rolls on ranged attacks.
Action Surge (Recharges on a Short or Long Rest). The soldier may make one additional action and possible bonus action on one of their turns.
ACTIONS
Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) slashing damage.
Assault Rifle. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 200/600 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d8 + 3) piercing damage.
BONUS ACTIONS
Rallying Second Wind (Recharges on a Short or Long Rest). The soldier regains 8 (1d10 + 3) hit points They may choose up to three creatures within 60 feet of them that they are allied with to regain 3 hit points if they can see or hear them.
