Silverslicer[edit]

Life shall come when they least expect it.
—Allessandra Rixin, elven Silverslicer

Silverslicers are the assassins of the Church of Modroben, specializing in finding and killing powerful liches, vampires, necromancers and others who pervert nature's plan.

Becoming a Silverslicer[edit]

Silverslicers are typically chosen from among the Shadowclaine, the Rogue class of Claine. Dexterity is their most important Ability Score.

Class Features[edit]

Like all members of the Church of Modroben, Silverslicers are expected to be neutral in most affairs (excepting only the defense of death, time and fate). Their class features should not be used except in the manner of church business and in direct self-defense. It is very rare for Silverslicer powers to be used against anyone other than undead creatures or necromancers. All of the following are class features of the Silverslicer:

Hide From Undead: At first level, Silverslicers can cast Hide From Undead three times per day. They can count their level as any Claine class as well as any Rogue-based classes for the purposes of determining how long Hide From Undead will last.

At fifth level, Silverslicers can double the duration of their Hide From Undead spells.
At tenth level, Silverslicers can cast Hide From Undead six times a day, and can do so as a free action, with no spell components.

Cleaving Backstab: At second level, Silverslicers can backstab any undead creature, even those who would otherwise be unaffected by backstabs. This comes from knowing undead creatures so well that effective strikes are possible; therefore, the Silverslicer must have at least twelve ranks in Knowledge (necrology) to utilize this power.

At ninth level, Silverslicer can do maximum damage on the first backstab targeted on on any spellcasters who specialize in necromancy, are in the process of using a necromantic spell or object, or are possessed or controlled by a necromancer.

Imitate Undead: At third level, Silverslicers can cast Imitate Undead three times per day. For the purposes of determining duration and saving throw, she gains a +2 per Silverslicer level.

At sixth level, Silverslicers can use magical effects in order to pass as undead when under the effect of an Imitate Undead spell. For example, a Silverslicer might grow fangs real enough to pierce skin or survive in the company of a lich for weeks pretending to have no need for food or water.

Find Corpse: At fourth level, Silverslicers can cast Find Corpse one time per day per level.

Advanced Range: At seventh level, Silverslicers can triple their range on any ranged weapon when used to target undead.

Steal Dead: At eighth level, Silverslicers can cast Steal Dead once per day.
