Siege Equipment Costs (5e Variant Rule)

Siege Equipment Costs[edit]
Page 255 of the DMG makes it fairly obvious that siege equipment is not intended to be a core part of 5e's gameplay. But sometimes your players want to buy a ballista to mount to their wagon or craft a siege tower on site before raiding the BBEG's foul fortress. This page is meant to paint in that gap with the following prices:
Equipment | Cost | Ammunition | Weight | Period |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ballista | 1,000 gp | 1 gp | 450 lb. | Traditional |
Cannon | 5,000 gp | 5 gp | 2,000 lb. | Renaissance |
Cauldron, Suspended | 200 gp | 20 gp | 100 lb. | Traditional |
Mangonel | 2,000 gp | 2 gp | 7,500 lb. | Traditional |
Ram | 400 gp | — | 300 lb. | Traditional |
