Shoulder pads serve many of the protection purposes that all football players need. Although all football players need pads, not all players wear the same kind.

These pads come with a protective helmet that has a facemask/iron bar facial covering, padded compression shorts, a set over baggier pants with a belt to tighten it over the padded shorts, and a compression shirt to wear over the pads themselves.

The helmet can also have a transparent visor to protect the eyes, the pads can have an additional lower back piece to protect the lower back, and the padded shorts have a cup compartment to protect your nether regions, although it is frowned upon to wear such a piece.

The pads weigh 5lb. The helmet weighs another 5lb. And the rest weigh around 2lb.

A Pad for Everyone

Not all pads are equal, and depending on the pad you can add different bonuses to your AC.

General O-Line Pads

Although you may not be part of the dogs of the team, your quick wit, will to survive, and determination to score a touchdown keeps you going. As wits and endurance are what's needed to make a play and survive on the O-Line, your AC is 10 + your Intelligence modifier + your Constitution modifier.

General D-Line Pads

To be a defensive skilled; you need to pay attention to the potential plays around you while the D-linemen raise havoc, and have the will to force yourself into a play. As your will power and determination is what you need to get that tackle, your AC is 10 + your Wisdom modifier + your Constitution modifier.

D-Lineman Pads

You are one of the dogs of the team, as such your pure speed, aggressiveness, and burst power is all it takes to get through and potentially score that tackle. As your role mainly relies on speed and aggressiveness, your AC is 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Strength modifier.

O-Lineman Pads

On the O-line, one of the most under respected but important jobs on the team, is being on the line. As an O-lineman you need to protect your team, and make sure no one gets in. As such, your AC is 10 + your Strength modifier + your Constitution modifier.

Proficient Only

You can only use this armor if you are proficient in it.
