Shawl of Hellfrax (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous item, Legendary (requires attunement by a Spellcaster class)
This tattered cloth dates back to the 1st age, when rumoured Earth and Hell separated giving mankind a chance to build anew. Hellfrax upset with the balance attempted to take the lord of the underworld Hades himself out of the picture taking his place. Unable to take him on a near miss slicing of a fragment of hades’ robe Hellfrax flees, where to no one knows. To attune you need perform a long rest wearing the Shawl and on the next day you need to feed the shawl with souls of the fallen. For ‘Unlocked Potential’ you need to take 30 lives. For ‘Intense flames’ 2nd rank and ‘Spreading Wildfire’ you need to take a further 50 lives.
Unlocked potential - Depending on the class that is taken pick Int, Wis or Cha and raise its value by +4 and increase the max from 20 to 22. Then choose one of the other 3 ability scores (Str, Dex and Con) and reduce the value by 2. Once both values are chosen you cannot change even if you unequip or loose the Shawl. (Requires Attunement)
Intense Flames - When using fire element bases spells you deal an extra 1d4 fire damage. Due to the strength of the inferno the extra damage deals full damage to fire resistant targets and half damage to fire immune targets. (After attunement deal an extra 1d4 for each die of the spells damage. For example a 4d6 spell would deal a further 4d4)
Spreading Blaze. - Whenever you kill a target with fire damage the excess fire damage of the spell extends to another target within 5 feet. If there is more than one target share the damage between them.
