Shalarin scholars make up 4% of shalarin society. They are a caste of historians, teachers, and scientists characterized by the various natural red markings that color their fins. In addition to their duties, most of these "Ka'sha'larin" have a talent for divine or primal magic, and develop bioluminescent spots across their body due to its use. The greatest and rarest of shalarin scholars are the shalarin arcanes, who are the only shalarin in As'arem allowed to practice arcane magic. |
