Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the thoughtless.

Manifesting: At each level you take in the thoughtless prestige class, you gain power points per day, an increase in manifester level, and new powers as if you had also gained a level in a manifesting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one manifesting class before becoming a Shadowgripper, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining powers, manifester level, and powers known.

Shadow-Shaping: Shadowgrippers can move light and shadow, such that one spot is blinding and the other pitch-black. Since they can not manipulate the amount of light/shadow, they can only use this power if both light and shadow end up concentrated. The light and shadow areas are 5' square per level (or one medium-sized person per level), which can not overlap. Both light and shadow do 1d6 damage per level. Instead of an attack roll, these attacks require a Will save on the part of the targets. The damage die must be spread out among the targets - e.g. if a Shadowgripper is 4th level but only has three targets, she must do 1d6 to two of them and 2d6 to the other. Those who roll a 1 on their Will save are blinded for 1d3 rounds. Light always heals and never damages Celestial Creatures; likewise, shadow always heals and never damages shadow and undead creatures. This power can not be used at night or in total darkness, or in blinding light where there is little to no shadow.

At third level, those who roll a 1 or a 2 are blinded for one hour.
At fifth level, those who roll a 1-5 are blinded for one day. The Shadowgripper may choose to target his light on allies and heal them half of what they would otherwise do as damage.
At seventh level, those who roll a 1-5 are blinded for one week.

Shadowsense: At second level, Shadowgrippers can not be surprised by anyone who steps on or through the shadow cast by the Shadowgripper. This grants a +2 to surprise and immunity backstabbing and flanking attacks. This power does not work in total darkness.

Slip Through Shadow: At fourth level, Shadowgrippers can use dimension slide one time per day+1 per Int. modifier. This works just like the psionic power, except that you must start and end in a shadow. You can start in your own shadow and end in someone else's.

At seventh level, Shadowgrippers can use this power three times a day.
At tenth level, Shadowgrippers can use this power at will.

Shadowy Door: At fifth level, Shadowgrippers gain the ability to use Dimension Door two times per day. As with Slip Through Shadow, she must start and end in a shadow.

Shadowboxing: At sixth level, Shadowgrippers can take control of a person or creature's shadow and attack them with it using hand-to-hand combat. The shadow has the same stats and attack modifiers as the target, including magical abilities and weapons. The Shadowgripper must concentrate on this power to the exclusion of anything else.

Shadow Walk: At eighth level, Shadowgrippers gain the ability to use Shadow Walk two times per day. As with Slip Through Shadow, she must start and end in a shadow.

Shadowcleave: At ninth level, Shadowgrippers can aim their soulcleaving at a shadow cast by an undead. This can not do damage, but it can soulcleave.
