Wondrous item, Rare This eerie lantern hangs from a chain, designed to be worn at your waist. It gives off no light—only an unsettling, shadowy aura, as a fragment of the Hexblade’s power resides within it. When you utter a dark incantation as an action, the lantern opens a gate to shadowy realms, releasing a wave of dark energy that surrounds you in flame-like shadows and casts the Shadow of Moil spell without expending a spell slot. The spell lasts for 1 minute, and you gain its benefits as normal. While Shadow of Moil is cast through the Shadow Lantern, it does not require concentration. The Shadow Lantern regains the ability to cast Shadow of Moil after a short rest. |
