Shæné Shadowwright

Originating from the plane of shadow themselves, shæné have a natural ability to work with shadow illusions. Shadowwrights are those who embrace this gift, and develop their abilities as much as they can.

Class Features

All the following are class features of the shæné shadowwright

Shadow affinity (Su): When in an area of shadowy or darker illumination, the shæné shadowwright gains +1 bonus to all of his strength, dexterity, wisdom, and constitution checks. This increases by an additional 1 every three levels after level 1.

Shadow flare (Sp): Before attacking, the shæné shadowwright may as a free action choose to add a damage bonus to his attack, equal to 1d6 + (1/2 caster level, rounded up). The caster level used is the sum of the character's sorcerer and shæné shadowwright levels. This can be used twice per day at level 3, and once more every three levels thereafter. The weapon is treated as a magic weapon when using this ability. Shadow flare can be applied to any type of weapon or unarmed attack that deals damage (including such things as a paladin's smite evil ability or a monk's flurry of blows ability), but each strike (even taken in the same action) counts against the daily use limit individually.

Shadow projection (Sp): As darkness spell, but only centered on caster, and caster is not subject to the miss chance against others in the darkness. This ability is used as a standard action. When the caster moves, the darkness moves with him. The caster level used is the sum of the character's sorcerer and shæné shadowwright levels. This ability can be used twice per day at level 5, and once more every three levels thereafter.

Shadow bolt (Sp): A shæné shadowwright may, as a standard action, send a magical burst of shadow energy towards a target. The burst is a straight line reaching up to 200 feet, and it deals 2d6 + (caster level) damage. The caster level used is the sum of the character's sorcerer and shæné shadowwright levels. Target may make a reflex save to avoid damage, with a DC equal to the damage to be dealt. This is usable once per day at level 7, and one additional time per day every three levels thereafter.

Shadow shift (Sp): The shæné shadowwright may, as a standard action, transport himself to the plane of shadow, as shadow walk spell, but without a time limit. He may take others with him, spending one additional daily use per one medium creature, one per two small creatures, two per one large creature, etc. Returning himself or another creature from the plane of shadow to the material plane is a standard action, and does not count against the daily use limit. A shæné shadowwright may only return creatures by this method if he put them there using the ability in the first place. Usable 1/day at level 9, and one additional use per day every three levels thereafter.
