Seeking Axe (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (any axe), rare (requires attunement) The drop bears of Calavera discovered a method to remotely control an axe by tethering it to a quarterstaff, which can be swung as a proxy. If you have proficiency with either quarterstaffs or the axe that the seeking axe is, you have proficiency with the seeking axe. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. As an action, you can release the seeking axe to hover magically in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. If you can see the axe, whenever you make a weapon attack, you can instead mentally command the seeking axe to fly up to 60 feet and either make one attack against a target or return to your hands. If the hovering axe is targeted by any effect, you are considered to be holding it. The hovering axe falls if you die. |
