Summon Shadow[edit]
The Epic summon shadow doesn't make sense to me. In both descriptions it says that each time they get summon shadow it adds +2 HD, but on the Epic table it gives a number of Shadows and an even # of HD. A Shadow starts with 3 HD, so if u keep adding +2 it should never be even, and it doesn't say anything about gaining multiple companions. -- Tug talk contribs email 18:54, 9 April 2009 (MDT)
- Also, does the shadow gain a +2 on the 3rd level of the class, or does that start at 6? -- Tug talk contribs email 19:03, 9 April 2009 (MDT)
- Text trumps tables. Every 3 levels, the shadow gains +2hd. Level 3 is a third level, so it should start with 5hd (7hd, 9hd, 11hd, etc). That's what I believe, anyway, through a strict reading of the rules. --TK-Squared 19:17, 9 April 2009 (MDT)
- Actually, just looked at actual ELH (dont ask mi how i accessed it and il tell you no lies) the epic shadowdancer adds 2 hd to her shadow and gains another shadow at the same time (wich can be absurdly overpowered, doesnt matter if you lose exp if they die all of them together reduces the tarasques (or other opponents) str to 0 in one round, killing it)Zau 19:16, 15 May 2009 (MDT)
- The ELH is a 3.0 rulebook, and the epic shadow dancer is an extension of the 3.0 shadow dancer from the 3.0 DMG/SRD. This is the 3.5 SRD. If you compare shadow dancers v3.0 and v3.5, you'll see it no longer gains multiple shadows. Therefore, the epic 3.5 shadow dancer no longer gains multiple shadows either. Have you checked out the 3.5 ELH update booklet? —Sledged (talk) 21:21, 15 May 2009 (MDT)
