Rod of Life Drain (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Rod, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)
A magical rod that can send out a tendril of necrotic energy towards an enemy.
You can use your action to target a creature you can see within 10 feet of you. The target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it is grappled by a tendril (escape DC 15). You can use a bonus action to deal 1d8 necrotic damage to a target grappled this way, and you regain an equal number of hit points.
The tendril has 20 hit points and an AC of 18, and is immune to poison and necrotic damage. If it is reduced to 0 hit points, the target is no longer grappled. The tendril is restored to its maximum hit points the next time you create it.
Otherwise the grapple ends until the target escapes, you dismiss the tendril at the start of your turn, you drop the rod or fall unconscious.
