Ring of Eternal Tears (5e Equipment)

From D&D Wiki

Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)

This ring is silver in color and changes sizes to fit the attuners pinky finger. On the ring is a small, silver face of which tears come spilling from the eyes.

When attuned to the ring, the attuned creature begins to cry. This crying does not take the form of strong emotions and a physical reaction, but instead it is simply tears that fall from their eyes. The ring has 6 charges, and the attuned creature can expend one of these charges to create a dome of tears around a creature of any size. This creature has to succeed on a DC 17 constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature starts to take 4d6 force damage at the start of its turns. On a successful save, the creature breaks out of the bubble. If the creature failed the original saving throw, they can make a strength saving throw at the end of their turns to break free from the tear bubble. While inside the bubble, the creature counts as restrained and being underwater.
