Weapon (any melee weapon), uncommon (requires attunement)

A Reluctant Weapon is a sentient weapon created for the purpose of slaughter and combat. Unfortunately, the weapon hasn't seemed to have got the memo on that.

Magic Weapon. This weapon gains a +1 to attack and damage rolls, and creatures killed by this weapon restores 1d6 + the creature's CR hit points (1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 CR monsters restore 1 hit point).

Sentient. The Reluctant Weapon is sentient, can communicate with its weilder through 60 ft. of telepathy, and can take the help action targeting its wielder three times per short rest. It is somewhat childlike, and very opposed to gore and violence (Intelligence 13, Wisdom 13, Charisma 13).

Curse. Thought it was designed for combat, the Reluctant Weapon has decided it doesn't want to hurt or kill anyone anymore. Attack rolls with this weapon have disadvantage (Even if you would normally have advantage on the roll) as the weapon physically resists hurting creatures it deems as living. The weapon can be convinced to attack until the end of combat with a DC 17 Persuasion, Deception or Intimidation check, but it will be unhappy until it is used for a purpose it deems as more pleasant.
