Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the red-eyes fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the red-eyes to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant damage or from a critical hit. On a success, the red-eyes drops to 1 hit point instead.

Return of the Zombies. Any undead killed by the red-eyes is raised as an undead under the red-eyes' control.

Zombie Power Struggle. The red-eyes does an additional 1 necrotic damage with every attack for every undead creature or corpse within 300 feet of it (maximum +14).

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The red-eyes can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d6 + 3) piercing plus 4 (1d8) necrotic damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the red-eyes' choice that is within 120 feet of the red-eyes and aware of it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the red-eyes' Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Black Fire Bullet (Recharge 5-6). The red-eyes exhales a gout of spectral flame at a point it can see within 70 feet of it. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

The red-eyes can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The red-eyes regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Stomping Destruction. The red-eyes makes a tail attack.
Wingbeat of Giant Dragon (Costs 2 Actions). The red-eyes beats its wings. Each creature within 15 feet of the red-eyes must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or take 11 (2d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The red-eyes can then fly up to half its flying speed.
Inferno Fire Blast (Costs 3 Actions). The red-eyes uses Black Fire Bullet if available.

A powerful red-eyes darkness dragon killed in battle, now reborn as an undead monstrosity it rules over lesser undead in a similar manner to its prior leadership of lesser dragons.
