Purse of Holding (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, common (major)

The original prototype of this unassuming purse was enchanted by a merchant of unimaginable wealth, who wanted nothing more than to carry his wealth with him on his adventurous travels. He was robbed blind, of course, and became completely destitute as a result, but the idea itself may still ring sound to some...
Enough, evidently, for the design to be copied and used the world over.

Coin Holding. The purse of holding has an interior space of indeterminite size, which can hold an unlimited number of copper, silver, electrum, gold, or platinum pieces,[1] yet rejects any attempt to place any other kind of item within. The purse weighs 2 pounds, regardless of contents. Retrieving coins from the purse requires an action.

Spatial Rupture. If the purse is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. If the purse is turned inside out, its contents spill forth, unharmed, but the purse must be put right before it can be used again.
Placing a purse of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, bag of holding, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one‑way only and can't be reopened.
