Parasitic Blade (5e Equipment)

Weapon (any sword), very rare (requires attunement) This weapon is of an origin consisting of a leeching parasite, for only one exists. This blade is a ghastly and disgusting moving mass of hard flesh and splintered bone protruding from the sides, formed into a sword-like shape with a razor-sharp edge. This sword deal additional necrotic damage equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier. Whenever this sword makes contact with a living being it tries to attach itself to it, the creature must make a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a failure the weapon forcefully attunes itself to that creature, and the hilt of the weapon embeds itself into the hand of those attuned to it dealing 4d6 necrotic damage. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Necromantic Origins. This blade was forged using resources from each of the Nine Circles of Hell. You know the infestation cantrip and can cast it at will, it does not count against the total number of cantrips you know. You know the raise dead spell and can cast it once a day. This weapon regains its charge daily at dusk. Cursed. This sword, when attuned to it, deals 1d6 necrotic damage to its user every turn. While attuned to this weapon, the only way to remove it from the user is with a remove curse spell or similar magic and succeeding on a DC 21 Strength saving throw. Sentience. While asleep and attuned to this weapon you feel its malevolent energy permeating throughout the blade and into your body. The parasitic blade is a sentient blade of chaotic evil alignment, with an Intelligence of 13, a Wisdom of 12, and a Charisma of 18. It has truesight out to a range of 120 feet. The sword communicates telepathically with its wielder and speaks, reads, and understands common and infernal. |
