Orc Names[edit]

In Vesuix, many peoples have a birth name that their immediate family (or guardians) gave them, and upon their age of part-maturity, they choose a name for themselves. They can choose whatever name they want, and it is written in a book of names in their hometown at a ceremony that they participate in along with a “True Namer”, which is a government job dedicated to names, taxes, filing stuff, and other miscellaneous jobs. It’s a respected position, and a necessary one, but is exceptionally difficult. A person's chosen name effectively becomes their first name, with their birth name becoming their last/family name. Birth names are often similar to one another in families, only changing a syllable or two through a generation.
