Weapon, rare

A wonderfully crafted and colorfully decorated axe created by the Goliath forgemaster Lakmoa, the Blade Carver. Its design differs from that of other axes as it has a mechanism built within it allowing it to collapse its handle and blade, transforming it into a handaxe. Likewise, this same mechanism can be used to extend the handle and blade, returning it to its original greataxe form. It is said that Lakmoa had created this axe specifically for an unnamed hero-adventurer who had come to earn the respect of the Goliaths to a degree no outsider ever has before and. As a result of the hero's smaller stature than that of his peers, Lakmoa had designed the axe to be perfectly wielded by the Goliaths as well as the adventurer alike.

When wielding Nukathkav, as a bonus action, you may transform this weapon into either its Greataxe or Handaxe forms. Nukathkav receives the properties of whichever weapon it currently takes the shape of, including damage. Additionally, it receives a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls at all times. Its damage type can be treated as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances.
