A Nether Scroll, one of the fifty Golden Skins of the World Serpent. It's said that the Scrolls described the creation of Magic and the truths of the Weave such that those who take a single glance from one may achieve masterful spellcraft. This particular scroll is focused on the anatomy and physiology of magic creatures. Golemancy, necromancy, summoning and transfiguration are laid bare and expounded upon even further in the secrets of this scroll.

Most Nether Scrolls can be found in the ruins of the Netherese Empire.
Comprehension of the Bare Essentials: Unlike most scrolls, a Nether Scroll is not a consumable magic item. It takes 30 days of concentrated study—at least 8 hours per day—to attempt to understand this scroll. After completing this study, you must make a DC 25 Intelligence (Arcana) check. If this check fails, you take 16d10 psychic damage, and you can attempt the check again after another 30 days of concentrated study.

Lessons Learned: You gain one of the following benefits after either failing or succeeding the Arcana check, based on rolling a 1d4. If you roll a repeat of any of the benefits, nothing happens.

• If you rolled 1, then your Intelligence is increased by 2, to a maximum of 22. You also summon a servile stone golem permanently, it will turn to dust if you should die.
• If you rolled 2, then you gain proficiency in Arcana if you don't already have it. You can cast animate dead once per day without expending a spell slot.
• If you rolled 3, then you can cast both conjure elemental and shield of faith once per day without expending a spell slot, you have both of these spells prepared at all times in addition to the spells you've already prepared.
• If you rolled 4, then your mastery of transfiguration is enhanced. You can cast true polymorph once per day without expending a spell slot. However, when cast this way, the range of the spell is decreased to activate on touch, the duration is decreased to 10 minutes, and it no longer needs concentration.

Unweave the Secret: Upon first reading of the Physiologia Vacus, you gain a firmer understanding of the shape of your own existence. You can choose to gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, up to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
