Nanocarbon Sword (5e Equipment)
Weapon (any sword that deals slashing damage), artifact
Created by a technologically advanced civilization several ages ago, this weapon makes use of a cluster of tiny machines referred to as 'nanites', which both enhance its near-vorpal slashes, and its durability. The tempered red blade of this sword seems to almost hum with an unnatural vibration, enabling it to cut through most materials by weakening the very atomic bonds holding them together.

Rend The Nanocarbon sword is a non-magical sword that has a +3 bonus to all attack and damage rolls for this weapon. Additionally, the Nanocarbon Sword has the properties of a Vorpal Sword, and deals an additional 2d8 force damage on a hit, bypassing resistances.
Destroying the Nanocarbon. The Nanocarbon Sword is made up of countless tiny nanites that bond together to form the weapon. While it has heightened durability when compared to traditional weaponry, that does not mean it is indestructible; sufficient force can break the blade, temporarily rendering it ineffective. However, after a short period of time, the Nanites will seek each other out to mend the weapon.
If the Sword is exposed to a sufficiently strong burst of electricity, the nanites will be rendered inert, disabling the blade's properties and leaving it vulnerable to physical harm.
