Mortal Blade (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (longsword), legendary (major) (requires attunement) Forbidden blade hidden deep within the depths of the earth, it is specially crafted with a magical alloy that has a rather unusual, yet existentially dangerous ability to harm immortal beings. Its indiscriminate killing ability, even against gods, and its very taxing effects on the wielder have led to this blade being one of Toril's best-kept secrets. Only, how did it become uncovered, and why has it been transported to a holy temple? You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The Mortal Blade has 5 charges, regaining 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. Once per turn, you may spend a charge as a bonus action, causing your next hit with this weapon to deal 3d8 extra necrotic damage. This damage ignores both resistance and immunity to necrotic damage. If an attack that deals this damage reduces them to 0 hit points, they immediately die, disregarding anything that would prevent this. A creature that dies from this cannot be revived through any means. If this occurs, you take 2d8 necrotic damage, which cannot be reduced or avoided by any means. If this reduces you to 0 hit points, you also suffer from the effects above. Additionally, roll a d6. On a 1, you gain one level of exhaustion. |
