Monster-Catching Net (5e Equipment)
Weapon (net), rare (major) This magical net is made of an ultra-durable grey material that shifts and expands to enwrap any creature it hits, restraining it until it is freed. A creature restrained by this net must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw at the beginning of each of its turns. Tally up the successes and failures. If the creature fails the saving throw three times, the net compresses the creature and fuses with it, turning into a Tiny gray orb. If it succeeds three times, the net disintegrates and the creature is freed. The net can also be destroyed by dealing 25 magical slashing or force damage to it (AC 10) from a single attack or effect. The gray orb the net turns into is a creature orb. The creature inside is unconscious and placed in suspended animation where it no longer ages, or requires food or drink. As an action, you can speak the orb's command word and toss it at a point up to 30 feet. The creature contained within the orb then appears at that location. It acts on its own initiative, but follows your verbal commands to the best of its ability. You can speak the command word again as a bonus action to turn the creature back into an orb. However, every minute the creature spends out of the orb, it can attempt a DC 20 Charisma saving throw. If the creature succeeds, it is no longer bound to the orb or your commands. |
