Moldarach (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
Moldarach[edit]
Huge beast, unaligned Armor Class 18 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Str +8, Wis +4 Sand Burrowing. While on soft ground such as sand, the moldarach gains a burrowing speed of 20 ft. Weak Point. An attack which specifically targets the moldarach's eye, which becomes vulnerable after no uses of it's pincer eyes ability is left, bypasses its damage immunity and resistances. If the attack inflicts piercing damage, it not only bypasses immunity and resistance, but inflicts double damage. Any attack roll made as a called shot, such as against this weak point, is normally made with disadvantage. Pincer Eyes (2/Day). The moldarach has two protruding eyes located on it's pincers, which can be targeted as a separate target than the main creature. One eye has 30 hit points, an AC of 13, and no damage resistances or immunities. Any conditions that would affect an eye would also affect the other eye (if still available) and the moldarach, and vice versa. Once an eye drops to zero hit points, that pincer virtually dies and the moldarach loses one use of this ability, and it loses one claw attack. ACTIONSMultiattack. The moldarach makes either two claw attacks and one tail attack, or one slam attack and one tail attack. Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw, or be knocked prone. Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). The moldarach has two claws, each of which can grapple only one target. Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d12 + 5) bludgeoning damage. REACTIONSParry. If the moldarach has at least one claw, the moldarach adds 2 to its AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the moldarach must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon. |
An aracha that has reached adulthood after one thousand years becomes a Moldarach. These beasts are often the apex predator in the deserts that they inhabit, and often live deep within ancient ruins that they grew up in. |
