You turn your blood into an orb of necrotic energy, which you hurl against a creature within range. You lose 1 hit die and make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes necrotic damage equal to number rolled on the hit die + your spellcasting ability modifier, plus an additional 1d10 necrotic damage if the creature is below its maximum number of hit points.

This additional damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).
