Metal Gear[edit]

After World War II, the world was split into two - East and West. This marked the beginning of the era called the Cold War. With the ever-growing interconnectivity of the world and reliance on nuclear weapons, it became clear that a new kind of weapon would be needed. Two answers to this question came from a coalition most would never know the name of; one of soldiers from America, Britain, Russia, and China joined under the last wishes of a dead hero: a system of control through proxy wars and private military companies, and the ultimate nuclear weapon; the first metal gear.

As such, describing the entirety of its complex world here would be both difficult, and ultimately unnecessary. For a deeper look, see Metal Gear's dedicated wiki.
