Merchant's Promissory Note (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement)
This unassuming slip of paper tied to a piece of string was, once upon a time, a merchant's hastily scribbled IOU promising a discount to the bearer of the note. It has passed from hand to hand for untold generations, and despite its age, it shows no signs of wear.
The centuries of use weigh heavily upon this note, and now it has taken on a magic of its own.
Promissory Note. While attuned to the merchant's promissory note, all merchants you encounter are magically compelled to lower their prices for you. No merchant can willingly sell you an item for more gp than its market value.
Ultimate Haggler. While attuned to the merchant's promissory note, you are considered proficient in all checks made to haggle the price of an item upward or downward, and you may add triple your proficiency bonus to all such checks.
Destroying the Merchant's Promissory Note. Despite its magic, this note is quite fragile. It can be destroyed by burning it, or merely tearing it apart.
