Mentalurgy (5e Equipment)

The mentalurgy is a device recovered from the once flourishing illithid civilization. it appears to have once been used to transform brains into a more compact and useful form. it resembles large mind flayers skull, with four grasping tentacles reaching over a stone basin in front of it. where the mind flayers own brain would be, there is a cavity where a human brain can be placed.
Destroying the Mentalurgy. at any time, you may place the brain of a humanoid of large size or smaller into the cavity where the illithids own brain would be. immediately after doing so, the mentalurgy will shut, and begin making odd sounds. after roughly sixty seconds, the tentacles will leak a bluish liquid into the basin. this liquid is known as fluid intelligence (see fluid intelligence in the potions section).
