Weapon (maul), very rare (major tier) (requires attunement)

This weapon boosts itself forwards with a stream of fire upon swinging it.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. On a hit, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 bludgeoning damage, for a total of 3d6 bludgeoning damage.

As an action, you can slam the maul into the ground and shatter the ground in a 30-foot cone in front of you. Each grounded creature in that area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 thunder damage and 3d6 bludgeoning damage and being knocked prone on a failed save, or half as much damage and remain standing on a successful one. Small or smaller creatures automatically fail this save. All land affected by this action becomes difficult terrain. Once this action is used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.
