These magical tattoos were said to be crafted by the sun god and the moon goddess. Each one designed to unleash the full power of their domains, and only to be used by the worthiest of champions. Individually they are powerful, but should one being wield both of them, they become nigh unstoppable.

Properties of the Sun Mark. This tattoo is like that of a golden icon that covers your entire back and upper arms.

  • You are immune to poison and disease.
  • You gain resistance to fire damage.
  • Your speed increases by 10ft and your movement does not provoke opportunity attack.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal extra fire damage equal to your martial arts die.
  • You gain blindsense out to 10ft.
  • You are immune to the charmed condition.
  • You can cast Sunburst and Sunbeam once each per long rest.

Properties of the Moon Mark. This tattoo adorns your entire head and down on to your upper chest.

  • You gain resistance to cold damage.
  • When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal extra cold damage equal to your martial arts die.
  • You gain darkvision out to 120ft that can see in both magical and nonmagical darkness.
  • You are immune to the frightened condition.
  • You can cast Disintegrate and Maddening Darkness once each per long rest.

Properties of Eclipse Mode. While wielding both tattoos, you can use an action to enter Eclipse Mode for 10 minutes. The transformation ends early if you use a bonus action to do so or if you fall unconscious or die. Your skin becomes that of a glistening shadowy metal and brilliant glowing markings appear on your body. Phoenix like wings and extensions sprout from your and a halo appears around your head. While in Eclipse mode, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
  • You are put under the effects of Haste.
  • You gain resistance to radiant and necrotic damage.
  • The additional damage granted to your unarmed strikes becomes radiant damage. This damage ignores resistances and treats immunities as resistance.
  • Each time you land an unarmed strike, you regain Hit Points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Freezing Burn of the Eclipse. An eclipse is a mystical event that occurs in the world, and drawing on its power comes at a deadly cost. When Eclipse Mode ends, you immediately take the following penalties:

  • You fall unconscious and fail 2 Death saving throws.
  • You take 5 points of exhaustion.
  • You must succeed a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blind and paralyzed. The blindness can be cured by Greater Restoration and the paralysis can be cured by Regenerate.
  • Should you die while suffering from these penalties, nothing short of True Resurrection or Wish can bring you back.
