The M7 SMG is chambered in state-of-the-art 5×23mm M443 Caseless rounds, reducing the amount of friction and complexity in the action, thus reducing the chance of a jam. Due to its high rate of fire, it saw limited use in the hands of typical UNSC marines, primarily being wielded by vehicle crews and special forces due to its compactness and lack of clean up, ODSTs outfitted with suppressors, and spartans wielding two at a time.

Recoil. If the user has a Strength of 16 or lower, attack rolls with this weapon while it is being wielded in one hand have disadvantage.

Short Barrel. This weapon does not have disadvantage when used within 5 ft. of the target.

Burst Fire. Every attack with this weapon uses 10 rounds.
