Lance of the Undead Cavalier (5e Equipment)

Weapon (Lance), rare (requires attunement) Dragonhater This lance is not what is seems like. The wielder of this seemingly ordinary weapon is being followed by a ghostly apparition of a charred knight. When striking anything draconic (dragons, wyvern, etc.) or anything with dragon blood (dragonkin, dragonborn) they will receive 1d6 necrotic damage. The ghostly apparition of the charred Cavalier can only be seen by draconic creatures and they'll have to do a wisdom saving throw against being frightened. The wielder of the lance will feel fond of having it in his possession and his hard to reason with when ask to put it away. The apparition will always sticks to the wielders side and stare down anything draconic. The hatred filled Cavalier will screech in glory when a dragon is killed. This can only be faintly heard by non-draconic creatures. Draconic creatures on the other hand, will be absolutely terrified by this sound and have to do a wisdom saving throw or be frightened. If the pc wielding this lance is of draconic blood. They will see the apparition upon touching the lance and have to make a wisdom saving throw or receiving 1d10 necrotic damage. Holding onto it as a draconic creature will fill the said creature with haunting thoughts and vivid nightmares To get rid of the ghost possessing the lance, one must first make him appear for the non-draconic. This may be achieved through "talk with the dead" or even a reanimation spell. Attuning to this item curses you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell or similar magic. |
