Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a good-aligned creature that has slain a true vampire)

Kylerion, or "Kyle" as he prefers, is a longsword with with a platinum hilt and a thin crystal blade that once belonged to Lord Sergei von Zarovich. The hilt is well-engraved and there is a sapphire gem placed at the center of the crossguard. The blade is long and slender, but is as strong as steel.

The blade has the finesse property and you gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit an undead with Kyle, that target takes an additional 1d8 radiant damage. He has the following additional properties.

Radiant Strike. You may choose to forgo one attack to instead make a ranged attack, slashing at the air and creating a bolt of radiant energy that streaks towards a creature within 60 ft. The attack bonus is your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus, and on a successful hit, the bolt deals 3d6 radiant damage.

Divine Awareness. While you hold Kyle, you are aware of the presence of any celestial, fiend or undead within 60 feet of you. You know the type(celestial, fiend or undead) of any being you sense and also its identity if you have interacted with that particular creature before. You also know the type of creature it is if you have interacted with that particular type of creature before. Within the same radius, you can also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.

Sentience. Kyle is a sentient chaotic good weapon with an Intelligence of 11, a Wisdom of 17, and a Charisma of 16. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60 feet.

Kyle can speak, read and understand Common and Celestial, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. His voice is light and friendly.

History. After his master's unfortunate death at the hands of his brother, Strahd von Zarovich, Kyle was taken by the newly created vampire and was to be destroyed by a wizard named Khazan who separated his hilt from his blade and proceeded to destroy the blade. The hilt was given freedom by the wizard's apprentice who fled with Kyle in hand. The apprentice didn't survive, but Kyle did and over the course of several centuries worked his way back to Castle Ravenloft to seek his vengeance upon Strahd for the destruction of his crystal blade.

It was then that he was picked up by a band of adventurers whose goals coincided with his own and through their combined efforts, they were able to defeat Strahd and escape the land of Barovia. From there, the young adventurer who picked up Kyle set out to restore him to his original form. And after another arduous quest, he was successful and Kyle was once again whole. But Kyle was now much different than he was before. Now, his good-nature and the spirit of the young, fun-loving adventurer who restored him leads him on a path to bring light to the world and vanquish the evil.

Personality. Kyle is a lighthearted soul who genuinely is looking to have a good time no matter what. Regardless of the situation or the mood, Kyle can always be relied on to make a joke or hum a little song, however inappropriate or untimely it may be. He also has the tendency to trash talk opponents before, during and after a battle.

Kyle's only real purpose is to rid the world of evil and those that would do harm to the innocent. Although, he does seem to have a very strong dislike of the sword Blackrazor, he does not seem inclined to say why. If forced to associate with the Soul Eater for two days or more, a conflict between him and his wielder occurs at the next dawn.

Furthermore, if Kyle feels his wielder his acting untrustworthy, commonly associates with undead or fiends, becomes an undead or simply refuses to engage or laugh at his jokes for too long, a conflict between him and his wielder occurs at the next dawn.
