Kindred (5e Deity)
From D&D Wiki
Kindred[edit]
Alignment. Neutral
Domains. Death
Divine Rank. Greater Deity
Kindred is the white embrace of nothingness and the gnashing of teeth in the dark. Shepherd and the butcher, poet and the primitive, they are one and both. When caught on the edge of life, louder than any trumpeting horn, it is the hammering pulse at one's throat that calls Kindred to their Mark of the Kindred hunt. Stand and greet Lamb's silvered bow and her Dance of Arrows arrows will lay you down swiftly. If you refuse her, Wolf will join you for his merry hunt, where every Mounting Dread chase runs to its brutal end.
Kindred serves simply as a bringer of death, they do not rely on worship to continue, and they do not seek out power, so long as there is death, they will endure. Even the death of gods feeds into their next hunt.
There is only one avatar of Kindred, but two halves of it always. The first, the Lamb, appears as a humanoid with a seemingly wooden mask, starry blue eyes, and features not unlike that of a white rabbit. Should that not prove to be enough, the Wolf will join, with much the same mask, but otherwise looking like a giant wolf made of shadows and gnashing teeth. Idols of them are simply depictions of death, wolves, rabbits, the moon, and a pale man with a axe.
Kindred is hated, loved, and ignored by other gods of all alignments, however Kindred is neutral to them all, ignoring them until their time is due.
Those who wish for a peaceful death worship the Lamb, and those wishing for a brutal kill worship the wolf, but all know death as a feature in their worship of kindred. Neutral is the most common worship, and some of those who do not worship any gods still pray for one of the aforementioned wishes. Those who simply worship death such as serial killers as well as clerics who wish to ease the emotions of the families of those in hospice care alike worship under Kindred in their own way.
